About Dr. Phelps

A physician who listens first, then leads with science.

I trained at some of the most rigorous teaching hospitals in the country, but the lessons that shaped me most came from patients — the questions they hesitated to ask, the explanations they wished they'd been given, the small moments where a clear answer changed everything.

Today, my practice combines hands-on clinical care with a public-facing role as a health educator. I see patients in clinic and reach hundreds of thousands more through my YouTube channel, where I translate the latest evidence into language anyone can use.

My Approach

Five principles that shape every visit.

After fifteen years of practice, these are the convictions that guide how I show up — for every patient, every appointment, every video.

Become a Patient
01

Listen Before Diagnosing

The right diagnosis often hides in the part of the story patients hesitate to tell. I leave room for it — every single visit.

02

Evidence Over Trends

I follow the literature, not the latest viral wellness fad. If a treatment doesn't have data behind it, you'll know.

03

Translate, Don't Talk Down

Medicine isn't a secret language. You'll leave every appointment knowing what's happening, why, and what's next.

04

Treat the Whole Person

Sleep, stress, relationships, work — these aren't side notes. They're often the foundation we have to address first.

05

Continuity Matters

Great care happens over time, not in single visits. I build long relationships so I can see what's truly changing.

In Their Words

Stories from real patients.

"

After years of being dismissed by other doctors, Dr. Phelps was the first to actually sit down and listen. She found what three specialists missed.

Her YouTube channel is what made me trust her before I'd even met her. The same clarity in her videos shows up in every visit.

She doesn't rush. She explains things in plain English. And she follows up — actually follows up. I didn't know primary care could feel like this.

Common Questions

Answers to what most patients ask first.

Don't see your question here? Reach out directly — I read every message.

Yes — I'm currently welcoming new patients for both in-person visits and telehealth consultations. New patient appointments are typically available within two weeks.
I'm in-network with most major insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. I'd encourage you to contact us directly to confirm coverage for your specific plan.
New patient visits are scheduled for 60 minutes; follow-ups are 30–45 minutes. I deliberately build longer slots into my schedule because rushed visits don't lead to good medicine.
My YouTube channel is for general health education — not personal medical advice. For anything specific to your own health, you'll always want to speak with a physician who knows you and your history.
Telemedicine licensing varies by state, so this depends on where you're located. Reach out and we'll confirm whether I can see you virtually based on your state of residence.
Bring a list of current medications, any recent lab work or imaging, and the questions or concerns you most want addressed. There's no need to "have it all figured out" — that's what we'll do together.

Ready to take charge of your health with someone who actually has time for you?

Whether you're booking your first visit, looking for a second opinion, or just want to learn — I'd love to hear from you.
